'Not called!' did you say? 'Not heard the call,' I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters, and servants and masters not to come there. And then look Christ in the face, whose mercy you have professed to obey, and tell him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish his mercy to the world. The article made a couple good points, but was mostly made of straw. Most conservative Christians I know care about poverty, support and/or go on mission trips, are into evangelism, etc. We aren't two-trick ponies.
Yes, I care a lot of pro-life issues. Considering that 4,000 innocent human beings were crushed and dismembered today I think that is a good issue to be passionate about.
Yes, I care about fighting the pro-gay agenda that is being forced on kids as young as kindergarten by our government. That seems worth fighting as well.
But he was right that we should be against crack houses and such.
yes...what was said in this article is very true, and as Christians it is our responsibility to take these issues seriously however it is when we focus solely on hating all these issues we forget who the people are behind them. Want to know what Jesus would really do? Jesus went out and hung with the 'sinners' he didn't care about his reputation or that everyone knew or didn't know that he was against what they were going he hung out with them anyways and that's what Christians should be doing first and foremost
