'Not called!' did you say? 'Not heard the call,' I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters, and servants and masters not to come there. And then look Christ in the face, whose mercy you have professed to obey, and tell him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish his mercy to the world. I think a lot of truth was in what Pat said! People are saying
Pat should not be judging Shoran!
They are judging Pat the whole time! Something is not right about that!
actually Pat Robertson said what I have been thinking. I dont know if I would go about it in the same way he did. He would have been better served to quote the scripture and let God speak for Himself.
I've seen foolish logic in my day, but this takes the cake. Do you people believe that everytime something bad happens to somebody that its simply punishment from God?
I had a relative die from a stroke last summer. Was that the rath of God, or just to much salty food? Let know.....
Kenny, yes it is because of God's judgement that we die.It all started with Adam and Eve.It doesn't matter what you eat or how much you exercise.10 out of 10 die.
Thank you for proving my point "Anonymous". Everyone dies, regardless of what you eat. Likewise, everyone dies, regardless of wether or not you turn over Israeli lands to the Palestinians...
Everyone dies, regardless....
Some of this stuff on these posts just make me laugh. Seriously, this is Matt's blog, and he can post whatever he wants. That's what a blog is for. Does God punish? Sure. Do I think that God gave the man a stroke? No. The fact of the matter is, we don't know if God did or not. Pat Robertson certainly doesn't know. Don't get me wrong. I've read his "The Ten Offenses" and it's a good book, but sometimes he says things that don't reflect well on Christians.
A cat almost bit my thumb last Saturday just minutes before I was to leave for a Crabb Family concert. I needed stitches and it was bleeding profusely. Was that God telling me not to go to the concert? I went anyway, it was an amazing blessing, and I didn't get stitches.
If He is judging Sharon for giving up some land, then why are there 80 year old child molesters? Why did he not judge them?
Just because someone is older doesn't always mean they are wiser, and we don't have to agree with him to be respectful.
Oh, and Matt, you have a great show.
