Dobson on Mel Gibson: "What more can he do?"

Good question. Thanks, Doc. Time to let loose of it...

Dobson said in a statement that "we certainly do not condone that racially insensitive outburst," but added "Mel has apologized profusely for the incident and there the matter should rest."

"Mel has also indicated his willingness to seek help to overcome his alcoholism, and has asked the Jewish community for forgiveness," Dobson said. "What more can he do?"

From a teenager we were always taught that when someone is drunk they are uninhibited. They say the things they think and they do the things they wouldn't dare.
Mel is a sheer example that the apple didn't fall too far from the tree.
What else can Mel do? Tell the truth! He can tell the truth about his own views and his lifesytle. As for Dobson, What else would he say after they backed "Passion of the Christ" fully.
As an ex-catholic I find it to be a bit of covering one's butt.

I don't know too much about drunkenness...but from reading other people who have been there and done that I think it is fair to say that too much alcohol can have varying effectg on varying people. Talk too much truth, no truth, fabrications, or outright angry lies.

Uninhibited for someone not filled with the Spirit means...goodness, who knows?

The point is...what more can Mel do now to make you happy? And that is Dobson's point.

Mel could get saved. That would make me happy. He needs Jesus Christ as his savior.
Then would he not only know and speak the truth he would know the Truth.

Belated comment here, to say I agree that Gibson made a sincere apology and that I don't believe be intoxicated makes one "more Truthful" having been intoxicated several times in my life to know.

Interesting...Hilary Clinton makes an innocuous remark about the House being run as a plantation and she's blasted relentlessly from these religious hypocrites as being a racist. But when one of their own makes a mistake that's arguably far more scathing and personal, and decidedly more racist, all they're saying is 'what more can he do?'
